This was what I made during my GCSE’s

The first bowl I made!

I whittled this and finished it off with some lovely walnut oil

My name is Elsa, I am 19 years old And have I lived in Oxfordshire My whole life.I have been building things with wood, metal and anything I could find since I was 5 years old. I knew I loved being practical when my dad had me fixing his cars and motorbikes. I have done wood turning, whittling, general DIY, building, up cycling and fixing things!
I have currently doing a Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering with Oxford University. This is how I have been able to refine my skills in solving problems and expanding my knowledge.
Do you have something laying around that you keep looking at and know it needs fixing? I have made a bird house from an old wine box and a go-kart from random bits of wood I found around the house. Let me know if you have something that needs some life bringing back to it and I am sure I can help!
I have been whittling for about 2-3 years. I have made a variety of spoons, spatulas and a mini golf club. I buy most of my wood from the Abingdon re-cycling centre. I also learnt how to wood burn during my GCSE’s. Fancy learning yourself? Give me a call!
I have been learning how to turn metal and plastic at my workplace for a year. These skills have been transferable and allowed me to learn how to use a wood lathe. I have taken a 2 day 1-1 course on wood turning. I enjoy it very much, I have my own lathe at home so if you need something turned, let me know!
